For those who look for the smartphone with integrated social media and great music experience, then the Sony Xperia Miro will be very appropriate to obtain. This is actually one of the social smartphones which has been deeply integrated with Facebook so that users will be alerted when there are incoming messages or social updates. The following are the specs overview of this smartphone to which can be used as your personal reference or perhaps your buying guide.

Design

At the first glance, the overall design of Sony Xperia miro is similar with iPhone 4. As a matter of fact, many people think that this is an imitator of the Apple’s smartphone. The device measures 113 mm in height, 59.4 mm in width, 9.9 mm in depth and weighs about 110 grams. With this dimension, the phone is apparently a bit taller than the Sony Xperia go but it’s lighter as compared to acro S (acro HD). The display measures 3.5 inches capacitive touchscreen with LED-backlit LCD, 16 million colors, 320x480 pixels and 165 ppi pixel density. The screen has been packed with the anti-reflective coating along with the multi-touch feature (up to 2 fingers). Below the display, you will see the three touch-sensitive controls which include Back, Home and Menu.

Hardware and Software

Actually, there’s nothing impressive about this phone’s hardware as it only boasts the 800 Mhz processor (Qualcomm) with the Adreno 200 and 512 MB of RAM. This processor will not be sufficient enough to back up its Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). In fact, in order to operate this latest operating system smoothly, the device must be equipped with at least the 1.5 Ghz processor along with the Adreno 220. But fortunately, the company has added the Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine to this phone which will provide the better user experience. For storing the files, the device has been included with the built-in storage space of 4 GB which can be expanded with microSD card up to 32 GB.

Camera

The main camera of 5 megapixels contained in this phone can capture image with the maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. For the better photo results, the camera has been also furnished with auto-focus, 4x digital zoom, geo-tagging, touch focus, 3D sweep panorama, along with the face and smile detection features. Unfortunately, the phone only features the VGA camcorder and the VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Connectivity

The ST23i version runs on dual-band HSDPA while the ST23a version uses the quad-band HSDPA
to access the 3G network. You will get the internet speed of up to 7.2 Mbps (HSDPA) or up to 5.76 Mbps through the HSUPA network. For accessing the wireless network, there will be the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and EDR. For the PC sync necessity or local connection, users can use the microUSB v2.0.

Price, Pros and Cons

The price range of Sony Xperia miro is around $299-349 (off-contract). The advantages of having this smartphone are the slim and stylish design, scratch-resistant display, social media integration and xLoud music experience. However, this cannot be categorized as the high-end smartphone from the company since it still sports the low screen resolution and pixel density, slower processor and the mediocre camera specs.
