But both Telkomsel and Lion Air couldn’t give when we can use Wi-Fi connection in Lion Air. According to sales director of Telkomsel Mas’ud Khamid, implementation of using an internet access in the plane is not that easy like building a telecommunication system in land and sea. It’s because it uses the transmission from satellite, and it has to be sure that the signal did not make a problem with pilot’s communication. After the agreement both Telkomsel and Lion Air in Jakarta, Mas’ud said “Although the access of Wi-Fi is already existed, we have to get permission from communication and flight regulator”. If there is permission for Wi-Fi connection in the plane from the regulator, Telkomsel is ready to fulfill the standardization of International Telecommunication Union or ITU. Lion Air said that they are ready to make a new technology from Telkomsel, both in a new plane and old plane. Branch Manager of Lion Air Rusdi Kirana said “we will modify the old plane to make the Wi-Fi system runs very well”. The first step from this agreement between Telkomsel and Lion Air is selling a SIM card in every Lion Air’s route. Selling the Telkomsel SIM card in every single flight of Lion Air will be a new marketing strategy for Telkomsel to reach a lot of consumers. As a new company, Lion Air made a great history in the flight world industry. On March 2013, Lion Air ordered more and less 234 Airbus from France. Lion Air has to spend 24 million US dollars for each Airbus. It became the greatest record of Airbus. Lion Air claimed that they control for almost 45 percent flight marketing in Indonesia. In 2013, they had 32 million passengers. Lion Air serves 650 flights every single day with 199 routes to 78 different destinations in Indonesia and Asia. [NRZ]
