At a glance, the Sony Ericsson Elm has the candy bar design with curved back style. The material of the body is mostly made from the recycled plastics. It is a thin phone since it only measures 110 x 45 x 14 mm and it is also lighter with the 122 grams in weight. The display features 2.2 inches TFT sharp screen with 256.000 colors, the resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and an accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate.

For the data speed of GPRS is up to 80 kbps, EDGE is up to 247 kbps, 3G HSDPA is up to 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA is up to 1.8 Mbps. For the alternative connection, the phone also features Wi-Fi capability.

For internet access, the device has been equipped with WAP 2.0/HTML (NetFront) browser and it also features Push Email, Instant Messaging, Facebook and Twitter widgets. For data transfer and to connect to other devices, the Elm is packed with Bluetooth v.2.1 (A2DP), USB 2.0, and DLNA feature.

The phone is also equipped with eco-features such as Walk Mate, Eco Mate, and Green Calculator. The first feature is capable of counting users’ steps during the day. The Eco Mate provides an environmental quiz with advices and the last mentioned feature is functioned as a tool to measure the human’s bad influences for the planet.

The Sony Ericsson Elm includes the energy efficient wall charger and the standard battery of Li-Po 1000 mAh (BST-43) in its eco-friendly package. The phone’s standby time is up to 336 hours on 2G mode or up to 424 hours on 3G mode. While the phone’s talk-time is up to 4.5 hours on 2G mode and up to 3 hours and 40 minutes on 3G mode.

On the whole, Sony Ericsson Elm is one of the great innovations from the company. The main good thing of this phone is definitely the eco-friendly features that provides energy saving and environmental preservation’s concern.
