This is the member of Sony Ericsson’s W-series phones called the Sony Ericsson W995 model. The letter W means the Walkman originated from Sony Corporation for the line of portable media player. The phone was available for the market on June 4, 2009. The device is available in three attractive colors i.e. Cosmic Silver, Energetic Red and Progressive Black.
In terms of form factor, Sony Ericsson W995 is a candy bar slide phone. The phone’s body is mostly made from metal that brings the shiny and modern look. The device is quite slim and light since it measures 97 in height, 49 mm in width, 15 mm in depth and 113 grams in weight. There are shortcut buttons at the right side that consist of Backward, Play/Pause, and Forward buttons. At the left side, there are fast port connector and the Walkman key that gives direct access to the music player. At the top side, there are ambient light sensor and the headset jack.
The display of Sony Ericsson W995 measures 2.6 inches with the resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and ~154 ppi pixel density. It has a great visibility whether in the dark or under direct daylight. The camera of 8.1 megapixels has been added to the phone for the photography needs. The camera comes with the autofocus, LED flash, 16 times digital zoom, face detection, and smile shutter. It also can capture video with QVGA quality at 30 frames per second and it is capable of video calling with its front-facing camera.

This Walkman phone is the first to own the 3.5 mm audio jack that become the standard feature for recent music-oriented phones. The company claimed that this music phone is able to provide music playback for up to 20 hours (continuously). To store the multimedia files, the device includes 8 GB card and supports for 16 GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) for an extra storage.
In terms of connectivity, Sony Ericsson W995 supports for GPRS Class 10, EDGE Class 10, HSDPA (7.2 Mbps) and HSUPA network (2 Mbps). For wireless connection, the handset supports for Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, DLNA, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP, and USB 2.0 port.
On the whole, Sony Ericsson W995 has what it takes for a phone that can be functioned as portable music player. With its complete music features, the phone can deliver the excitement of music and video entertainment.
