If you look for the 4G-capable and contract-free smartphone, then the LG Connect 4G from MetroPCS will be very appropriate for you. This smartphone is actually the first carrier’s dual-core smartphone that has been released to the market but sadly it comes with the rather expensive price. So now, let’s take a look at the following specs overview of LG Connect 4G from MetroPCS.

This smartphone comes with the slate design with the overall glass in the front and the textured plastic rear panel. The phone measures 116.5 mm in height, 62.2 mm in width, and 11.6 mm in depth and weighs about 136 grams. At the front side, you will see the 4 inches LCD capacitive touchscreen with NOVA display that may deliver the good readability under direct sunlight as compared to other Android smartphones out there. The screen is made of Corning Gorilla Glass and it has an excellent brightness and also the great viewing angles. But sadly, it comes with a lower screen resolution namely 480x840 pixels which may cause the less smooth graphical appearance for example when playing games or watching Youtube videos.

The hardware of LG Connect 4G is rather convincing featuring the dual-core 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon S3 along with the 1 GB of RAM. Technically, it will deliver the stable and responsive operation especially when combined with the Android OS v.2.3 (Gingerbread). There will be also the built-in 4 GB storage which supports for memory expansion by using the microSD card (up to 32 GB). The phone offers the standby time of 6.35 hours and talk-time of about 5 hours and 14 minutes.

The phone boasts the mediocre 5 megapixels camera with auto-focus and single-LED flash. Having this camera quality, you will get the quite good photos but surely not better than the average. It also will provide the photo results with decent color and details. The camera can also record the HD video with 720p quality at 30 fps and there will be also the 1.3 megapixels secondary camera for video call.

To access the web, the LG Connect 4G runs on dual-band CDMA (2G), CDMA2000 1xEV-DO (3G) and LTE 1700/2100 for the 4G network. The default browser has been added with HTML and Adobe flash support so that user can perform the full web browsing experience. There will also the Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n which can be used as Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP and EDR along with the microUSB v2.0 for the PC sync.

The price of LG Connect 4G is $299 (prepaid MetroPCS). The benefits of this phone are the good construction, pocket-friendly sizing and good hardware spec (dual-core processor and RAM), vibrant and bright display, and 4G capability indeed. Unfortunately, the phone does not come with a higher camera specs while on the other hand it offers the HD video recording. The phone also uses the lower display resolution which can be annoying when opening heavy games and applications. But overall, the phone can be one of the best mid range Android smartphone for you to obtain especially it is a contract free smartphone after all. [IS]
