Via Fansided.com - Samsung Electronics has confirmed that they will be launching their newest smart phone namely the Galaxy S4 at an event in New York next month. Samsung is expected to start delivering invitations to the March 14 "Samsung Unpacked†event today.
"We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York) … as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country,†Samsung mobile division chief JK Shin said.
The previous version of the phone, the Samsung Galaxy S3, was a major hit and became a rival to Apple’s iPhone. The phone’s larger than life display and increased battery life allowed users to have benefits that they desired from the Apple product.
Samsung sold over 40 million S3 units since their May 2012 launch. The company is expected to improve on those key selling points with their new device that could reportedly include Samsung’s new Know security software.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to have a higher resolution screen, improved camera and a quad-core processor. Additional rumored features include an eight-core Exynos processor, a separate eight-core graphics processing unit, a 4.99-inch Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capability, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and the latest version of Android, known as 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, per CNET.
