Sony Ericsson was established in 2001 and the company was a merger of two large companies. The two companies are engaged in different fields, namely Sony (Electronics Company from Japan) and Ericsson (mobile telecommunications company from Sweden).
Originally, the company named Ericsson only. However, after a merger with Sony, the company changed its name to Sony Ericsson. The corporate headquarters which is formerly located in Sweden have been moved to Hammersmith, London, England. This merger of two great companies can be considered as successful company unification. Now, the company is the sixth largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world after Nokia, Samsung, LG, Research in Motion (RIM), and Apple.
The basic mobile phone communication network of Sony Ericsson is GSM (2G) W-CDMA/UMTS (3G). Meanwhile, for the data communications network, it is based on the EDGE (2.5G) and HSDPA & HSUPA (3.5G) networks. In addition to producing mobile phones for the international market, Sony Ericsson also manufactures mobile phones specifically for the Japanese market. **The Walkman brand**

It was introduced with the P series in 2003 with the introduction of P800. **The GreenHeart**
Originally this range of phones was introduced in 2009 with the introduction of Sony Ericsson J105i Naite and C901 GreenHeart.. It uses eco-friendly materials and features eco-applications but still featured with recent mobile technology and great multimedia capability.
In February 16, 2012, Sony Corporation ("Sony") announced that the transaction to acquire Ericsson’s 50% stake in Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB ("Sony Ericsson") has been completed as of February 15, 2012 (Central European time). This marks the completion of the transaction jointly announced by Sony and Ericsson on October 27, 2011, and makes Sony Ericsson a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony.
