Based on Tom’s Hardware report, Samsung is said to be preparing to unveil the Galaxy S4 that features a 4.99-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display at CES in January, 2013.
According to a Samsung official speaking to a Korean newspaper, the firm said it'll reveal a handset boasting an ultra-thin AMOLED material and a screen with a 441 pixel per inch density. While they didn't confirm the device itself, it's undoubtedly the Galaxy S3's successor, especially with such high-end specifications. The Galaxy S4 is also expected feature a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
The paper's source said Samsung is utilizing its current mass production method, as well as advanced LITI technology to see the smartphone come into fruition.
The insider also said that the head of Samsung Electronics demanded the S4 offers a full HD AMOLED display and not LCD in order to give it a unique selling point over fellow heavyweights such as the soon-to-be-released Droid DNA, in addition to the rumored Sony devices Yuga and Odin.
Production for the Galaxy S4, meanwhile, is said to have commenced, with a launch period set for the first half of 2013. [IS]
