It should, however, come as no surprise that the pages look an awful lot like the profile pages on social network site, which bought Instagram in a mega-deal announced in April.
In fact, the profiles will look quite a bit like the "Timeline†layout, with a large display at the top of the page that appear to showcase seven of a users’ favorite picture — one that is larger than the others. All of users’ Instagram pictures will show up on the profile, though pictures set to be private will only be visible to logged-in members of a users’ network.
Right now, the company said, users won’t be able to upload photos from the Web, only via mobile devices. Users will, however, be able to manage their profiles from the Web to use as a landing page for all of their quick snaps.
The new pages will roll out to all Instagram users in the next week or so, the company said. Users can access their individual profiles by heading to instagram.com/[username]. [IS]
